Last updated July 2026. This describes what Feature Night collects today and why — it will be revised as the product changes, and we’ll update this date when it does.
What we collect
Feature Night collects only what’s needed to run the product you’re using:
- Account info — email address and display name, handled through Supabase Auth. We never see or store your password; Supabase stores it encrypted.
- What you do in the app — titles you rate, your watchlist, watch groups you’re in, recommendations and chat messages you send inside those groups, and which streaming services you tell us you subscribe to.
- Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, error traces) kept briefly for debugging and abuse prevention.
We don’t collect payment information — Feature Night doesn’t process payments today. We don’t use third-party ad trackers, and we don’t sell personal data to anyone.
Who else sees it
Anything you post inside a watch group (recommendations, chat, ratings, your shared watchlist) is visible to the other members of that group — that’s the point of the feature, and it’s explained where you post it. It is not visible outside that group.
We rely on a small number of outside services to make the app work, and each sees a limited slice of data:
- Supabase — hosts authentication and our database (Postgres). This is where your account and app data actually lives.
- TMDB (The Movie Database) — supplies movie and TV metadata, posters, and streaming availability (via JustWatch). We send TMDB the title you’re looking up, not who you are.
- OMDb — supplies the Rotten Tomatoes critics score shown under movie posters, under the same terms as TMDB above.
Your controls
- You can leave any watch group at any time, which removes your future visibility into it.
- You can remove titles from your watchlist or change your streaming services whenever you like.
- You can request a full export or deletion of your account data by emailing us — see contact info below. We’ll delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where we’re required to keep something longer for legal reasons.
Children and family use
Feature Night’s watch groups support marking a member as a child in the group (shown as a “Kid” tag) so the adults in that group know who they’re sharing recommendations with. That flag is set by an adult managing the group, not by the child. Feature Night is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 who isn’t part of a group set up by a parent or guardian. See Family Safety for more on how this works today and its current limits.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is used, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you directly.
